New Zealand market indices suggest that advertisers tend to showcase more reputable / less risky gambling operators to players before others. The casino reviews industry seems to stand by the standards of more or less balanced approach and performs a ‘risk aversion’ function to the benefit of users. Yet, in the course of analysis we disqualified several brands that advertise using one affiliate program (Buffalo).
As South Africa analysis suggests, in July 2019 CS Live ZA 10 Index level of 7325 is 4.746% short of CS Live ZA 50 (7690) and 5.666% lower than CS Live ZA Source Index (7765). As seen from the data, South African advertisers tend to showcase more risky brands on top spots of their rankings, while keeping higher-rated brands on the publications’ outliers. Potential advertiser risk bias is high, which puts readers in a disadvantageous position.
The CS Live Casino 50 Index tracks a risk of 50 online casino operators that are available to play in respective geo. Source of index components: casino publications (advertisers) found in local Google search.
Advertiser Index tracks a monthly risk of advertisers catering online casino brands to search engine users in respective geos.
The CS Live Casino 10 Index tracks a monthly risk level of the Aggregate Ranking of Advertisers Top 10 Promoted Casino brands.
How indices are calculated?
CS Live 50 Index is calculated using Median AG Rating across the list of casino brands. The AG Rating, which is based on numerous components, is the most robust measure for casino risk assessment available in the market. CS Live 50 Index is calculated by finding the center value of the dataset of AG Ratings for a group of casino brands within the geography, multiplied by 1000.
Advertiser Index is calculated by finding the center value of the dataset of AG Ratings for a group of casino brands found in a specific source, i.e. advertiser (multiplied by 1000).
CS Live 10 Index is calculated by finding an aggregate Top 10 casino brands ranking and subsequently finding the center value of the dataset of AG Ratings for this group.
Limitations and qualifications. Scope: we analyze only advertisers found in 20 first search results for respective most popular search phrases. Depth: for the purpose of analysis we only take Top 20 spots in a publication’s ranking, ignoring the rest (if there are more). If a casino brand has no AG Rating (not rated, blacklisted or terminated), this brand is ignored.
